Hi,
My thinkpad T61 running Windows Vista. the wireless worked ok (it was able
to connect to internet thru any access point or wireless network). Recently
I found out the wireless is not able to connect to internet. It shows
strong signal, and the driver is still original(not update) . Device status
also show that it is working properly. I try all diagnosd and repair but it
is helpless.
I am not sure this happened since I installed SP1 or not because I using
ethernet cable most of the time. If you have any ideas to make it work, I
am very appreciating.
Thanks

Use ThinkVantage Access Connections instead of the Vista wireless connection
software. It's a lot better, especially if you move around.

More importantly, use only one or the other. Having both running will
cause problems, IME. For XP or Vista.

When you start using Access Connections, or any other third-party wireless
connection software, the Windows one is disabled, and it tells you that if
you try to use it.

Not always, and certainly not in XP. At least not IME.

IAC, I always try to use the OS supplied tools first, since I am more
familiar with them than whatever the hardware vendor supplies.

Are you talking from experience, or from your arse? The Sony software
disables it, so does IBM/Lenovo Access Connections, and Netgear software, in
XP. I only have experience with Access Connection vs. Windows Vista.

Yeah, it's better that you stick with the simple stuff!

Thank you,
It worked both with Think Advance or normal way. Now neither of them work.
It somehow involves with ip adress or configuration. Is there any software
to correct this. Thanks

Did you try power off/on your router? I have solved flaky wifi
connections by rebooting my router.

Yes, In My Estimation. But I didn't know that it meant that you could just
include it to qualify baseless guesswork with any credibility. Thanks.
