Howdy.......am new to this group.
I just bought an HP pavilion laptop and like others, found the wireless
mouse keeps the screensaver from working. I went to the Windows updates and
tried 4 times to download the HID update for this, but each time it failed
and have no idea why.
Also went to Microsoft site and if said you could go into configuration and
uncheck one of the items; however, mine doesn't have that item listed (can't
remember what it was just now!).
Soooooooooooooo still now working together. I called HP technical support
and they didn't know. The Gateway laptop I bought earlier in the year had
the same problem, but when I called them back for a remembering on this
problem they said to unplug power cord, hold down power button for 30
seconds, then replug back in. Tried that, but to no avail.
Any ideas what next?????
Also, I put on parental controls and now cannot add websites to Favorites.
Have no idea how to remedy this also...........it is the same for
Administrator or Guests....neither lets me add to Favorites.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Hi Che'usa,

To fix the mouse issue, you can uncheck the "Allow this device to wake
the computer" in the "Power Management" tab in Device Manger for the
device's properties. See "STEP FIVE" in this tutorial for how. You will
have to use the keyboard to wake the computer from sleep mode and screen
saver.

Not sure why it will not let you add to Favorites. Have you tried
turning off Parental Controls to see if it will let you afterwards? If
it still will not, then you have some other problem.

Shawn
