Wireless Mouse (IntelliPoint) update broke my mouse settings

After installing Microsoft - Other Hardware - Microsoft USB Dual
Receiver Wireless Mouse (IntelliPoint) yesterday my (wireless optical
mouse 2.0a) mouse settings have been lost.

I had the "wheel button" acting as a back button. Now it just does the
default action (scrolling) even though the mouse properties dialog
still has "back" set.

I'll try rerinstalling the intellipoint software, but if anyone has a
fix or has the same problem let me know.

Thanks
Leslie

Well I reinstalled the IntelliPoint software and it's back to normal
now. I checked windows update and that update is there again... I
won't try that again!

There seems to be no information about this update. Anyone know what
it's for?

Experienced users NEVER install any hardware or third-party software updates
offered by Windows Update.

Hi les...

I had the same exact problem. Tried the "update" several times and always
lost partial functionality in my Intellimouse Explorer 2.0. I did find a nice
fix in the form of new Intellipoint software at this link...

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mo...06.02%20(32bit)

A lot of neat new functions that aren't on the Intellipoint Mouse CD and the
mouse now works better than ever. Hope my post isn't too late and you're
still monitoring this thread. Good luck!
