I had the same exact problem. Tried the "update" several times and always
lost partial functionality in my Intellimouse Explorer 2.0. I did find a nice
fix in the form of new Intellipoint software at this link...

A lot of neat new functions that aren't on the Intellipoint Mouse CD and the
mouse now works better than ever. Hope my post isn't too late and you're
