"Wireless Network Connection Unvailable" after upgrading to XP Prof

Hello:

When I went to upgrade from XP Home to Professional onto
my laptop, I lost my wireless connection. "Wireless
Connection is Unvailable" is shown in the network
conncections & taskbar. I am using Netgear WGR614 v4 &
Atheros ARG500AG Wireless Network Adapter. I checked the
device manager and it said that the adapter was working
properly. It appeared that Microsoft XP Prof
removed/updated the drivers during the installation. I
had to use the Recovery CD in order to get the wireless
connection to work again.

Any advices? Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Hey, same thing happen to my sony lap top. I should of known, leave well
enough alone. I was told Xp professional provides better networking.....I
wish I didn't listen. "Better networking" now not working at all. My Sony
does not have a recovery cd. Any advice on how to delete "pro" and go back
to " home" ?
