Wireless Optical Mouse no longer works after XP SP2 is installed

Does anyone else have this problem? I am updating and cleaning up my
brother's PC and his Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse no longer works after I
downloaded and installed XP Service Pack 2. I tried to install the drivers
for the mouse after the update but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?
He is running XP Pro on his PC by the way.

dump SP2 it conflicts with just about everything known to man - you get all
the security updates in the 'roll up' anyway (after rejecting the
installation of SP) just dont have automatic updates on and SP will stay away
from your box

Thanks, I already disabled it. My bro has Norton Antivirus 2005, I am having
him use Reg Cleaner, Ad-Aware and Spy bot, so I think he is pretty well
protected any ways (his firewall is on). I also am making sure his system
does disk cleanup every week and I am going to have him anakyze his hard
drive for a defrag every 3 weeks or so. Thanks for the advice.
