WLinstaller is not a valid Win32 application...?

I tried to install the new Windows Live Messenger on my PC (The OS is Windows
2000 Professional - if this is any help.) Is it due to the fact that the new
version isn't compatible with Windows 200 Professional? Or is something
going wrong in the download?

If it is not compatible with Windows 2000 Professional, then which version
is, and where can I get it?

See system requirements at http://get.live.com/messenger/sysreq.

It will only run with Microsoft Windows XP SP2 / SP3 or with Windows
Vista. Furthermore, Windows 2003 Server (Win2K3) and Windows XP x64 are
not supported.

You will need to use MSN Messenger 7.0 on Windows 2000. Which you can find here:

Hi Jonathan,
I receive the same error message, however, I am running XP.
OS Name: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version: 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600

Please advise.
