WLM 2009 connection dropping

Hi

I am using latest Windows Live Messenger 2009, upgraded from WLM 8.5.
can connect without any problems, everything works ok for some period
then WLM drops connection, tries to reconnect and this process repeat
after some time

I never had similar problems with 8.5

Sometimes I only find out that I don't have a connection when I try t
send a message in an open contact window and after some time I get
message that it was not delivered

What could be the reason for this reconnecting issue

We're having the same problem here in our office. 2 machines (XP Pro w/
latest updates/SPs), and Vista SP2RC1. No issues with previous versions of
messenger on these machines or other older versions of Messenger around the
network. Network/ISP connectivity solid.

I too am having the same issue. XP, SP3... No other local network computers
are having this issue, IE, my laptop or other desktops running a mix of Vista
and XP SP2 & 3... I have uninstalled an reinstalled Live messenger with no
difference. Anybody have any ideas as to what is causing this unusall
behavior. Also, untill about a month or so ago messenger worked fine on this
desktop as well.

my sister is having the same problem, hubby running vista,i,m running xp no

The only solution I have found that works, is that one person needs to have
Live Messenger vers. 8.5 (2008) installed. To use the Voice Call or Video
Call feature, if the other person is using vers. 14.xxxx.206. This lessens
the amount of disconnects while doing the Voice or Video Conferencing.

After uninstalling the Messenger component of Windows Live Essentials found
under Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs. Run the install program for
Messenger 2008, found at:
