WLM 2009 not working on vista x64?

Hello everyone,

I just downloaded the new WLM beta. The installation went just fine,
but when I tried to sign in, I got the error that Windows Live
Communications had stopped working. Now I can't sign in Live Messenger
anymore, and I even can't downgrade my messenger to the previous
version. Did anyone encounter the same problem and does anyone know how
to fix this?

For your information: I'm Dutch with a English Vista Ultimate x64 and a
Dutch language pack. Service pack 1.

It does work on x64, there's known "known issue" or anything here.

Although you're not the first to experience these problems (regardless of platform). There
should be a new version of Messenger this week or next, so maybe it's best to hold off until
then.

However, what is your problem downgrading? If you're having serious problems, run
ZapMessenger in the link below to remove Messenger:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/zapmessenger.asp

And then install 8.5 again:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/wlm85.asp

Thank you very much. That did the trick. Now it's just waiting for
working beta then.

EDIT: I just started your version of WLM but I got a error at signin
in:

You cannot use WLM at this time because your contact list i
unavailable. Please try again later.

Error code: 8100037
