Greetings,
It's encountering an error and then rolling back.
As an easy starting point, try manually installing Messenger by simply downloading and
running the MSI file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3qfe/wlm.asp
If that installs without an error (it'll just install and disappear if it's successful), then
install the Communications Platform:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/red...e/contacts.asp
If that installs correctly, you can now use Messenger by running it from the Start menu,
Windows Live folder. However, I suspect either of these will error out and will tell you
what the problem is. There's also an log generated by the installer, but just running these
is certainly easier than locating and parsing the log file.
