WLM 2011 Problems..back to 2010?

I recently upgraded to Windows Live Essentials 2011 and am not pleased with
WLM 2011. Does anyone here know if it is possible to return to WLM 2010
while leaving the rest of WLE 2011 working? And, if so, how to change back?

WLM 2011 is much slower to load. It opened the door for tons of spam and
some attachments open but the cursor never changes from the small vertical
line to the arrow and, until it changes the attachment doesn't work so I
have to delete it.

No mix and match of any Windows Live Essentials application versions is
possible.
Unlikely that the 'opened spam door' is related to either version.

Fyi...there is no 2010 version....only 2009 and 2010.

Your options...uninstall all of 2011 and reinstall 2009.

The installer only installs and updates

Thanks for the info, Winston. If I were to uninstall WLE 2011 wouldn't I
lose all my emails and addresses?
I know I could export my addresses and import them again after installing
2009 but wouldn't I also have to re-establish my various email identities?

I uninstalled 2011, rebooted and installed WLM "2010" (v14.x) without losing
mail, mail accounts, RSS feeds, newsgroup settings, contacts or account
preferences.

HOWEVER as a matter of prudence I saved a full copy of my Windows Live Mail
folder as precaution beforehand.

Are you all finding that the spam filter in WLM 2011 does not work?

A bunch of us posted this on Microsoft's forums but they just deleted the thread!

Original URL:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...&cr=&sloc=&p=5

You can see the cached verion at:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...&hl=en&ct=clnk

Does anyone know if they're working on a fix?

Thanks
- Eric

The communities interface was created to support the nntp interface
for the same nttp newsgroups. MSFT discontinued their nntp newsgroup
server and as a result the sister community interface.

I.e. The thread was not deleted..the entire interface was discontinued.

No updates have been released for any of the
Windows Live Essential 2011 applications.
No public word of what is being worked on.

The correct place to post questions on Windows Live products
is the Windows Live Solution Center (windowslivehelp.com)

Links for each WLE application's forum(s) can be found in this blog article
Windows Live Forums and Newsgroups
http://liveunplugged.spaces.live.com...0CA!1088.entry

Fyi...the Junk Mail filter by design is intended to be best used in
conjunction with
and for Hotmail accounts(Live.com, Hotmail.com, Msn.com) when that
account/Live ID is configured to use the http protocol(not pop3).

The local Junk Filter's is and always has been fixed code until
the next program update(which in most cases is only a few times a year).
