WLM 8.0 hangs

I installed the latest version of WLM, 8.0 Build 8.0.0812.00. Every time I
start it up, it signs in fine and then hangs. It comes back for 5 seconds,
then hangs for 60 seconds, then comes back for 5, etc. If I watch it in
Task Manager, it goes from Running to Not Responding, Running, Not
Responding.

I started it up, it signed in, I clicked on the drop down menu (the little
down arrow in upper right) and it took 60 seconds for me to be able to
select Help/About to get the build version. It will not stop this and the
only way to get rid of it is kill it in TM.

Any ideas?

I have a Dell Dimension 5150c, 3.2 GHz with 4 GB RAM and 160 GB HDD, XP SP2
and all updates from MS.

Thanks in advance, my relatives cannot see my daughter since this does not
work. I have tried Yahoo Messenger but bad, bad audio problems and video
hangs.

YES !!! I have the same exact problem.. I posted it here a few days ago..
but no one replied.... this is very strange...

All I can think of is that some software may be conflicting..

do you have any of the following?:

Live messenger plus! (latest version)
A-Patch msn patcher
Logitech Quickcam 10 (camera software)

It was the A-patch patcher that created this problem for me...
I did a repair install and now its working
