WLM 8.0 Wireless Router Will not Stay Connected

When I try to log into WLM 8.0 through the wirless router, I am connected,
but quickly the application hangs and doens't respond and then tries to
reconnect. The internet is up and running through the wireless router. I can
use my mobile broadband to connect to WLM8.0 without issue so I don't think
it is a computer firewall issue. The issue seems to be in the router/server
area. I have seen posts on increasing the MTU to 1400 and opening port 1863,
but have not luck actually doing them. I have tried, but it goes no where
quick. The application hang error is:

Greetings,

So it's only when you're connected through that wireless router (since it works when you
connect via mobile broadband)?

If so, this has been reported with a few routers before. What can happen is Messenger
attempts to determine a few things about your router based on its own probing and UPnP
broadcasts. For instance, if the UPnP broadcasts are malformed, the client will freeze or
crash as you're describing. Normally updating the router firmware from the router
manufacturer solves this problem.
