I seem to be having webcam issues.

Windows Vista Business
Creative WebCam Go Plus
FusionHDTV Gold 5

It all worked fine in XP.
The "Camera Selection" for "WebCam Settings" under "Tools" is grayed-out and
not populated.
The video is showing what is coming from my tv card (FusionHDTV).

Devices are shown in Device Manager.
Windows Media Encoder 9 display all devices. (WDM and VFW)
MovieMaker does not appear to have the old capture menu item, and the import
from digital camera will not find either webcam or tv card.

Is there a known problem with WLM 8.1 in Vista?
Nathan

I'm taking a guess here. Your webcam driver probably is incompatible with
Windows Vista. I suggest checking for an update on your companies website who
created the webcam.

That thought originally crossed my mind, but when both camera and tv cards
show up in Windows Media Encoder 9, both are in the Device Manager with their
respective drivers, I let that thought pass.

Greetings Nathan,

That dialog is not used to select the webcam -- that was for Windows 98/ME users and hasn't
yet been removed.

To select your camera you need to go through the wizard. To do so, click the Tools menu (or
Alt-T on the keyboard if the menu is hidden), then Audio/Video Tuning Wizard and then go to
the end of the wizard to choose your video device.

Not all are compatible, but I think you'll find most devices work.

That would do it.
I didn't know "Webcam Settings" was only for 98/ME.
Tnx,
Nathan

Hi,

Well you can still use that dialog to play around with some of the settings.
