Evening Folks, i believe i've found a bug. Bug spray has no effect..

When i right click on the WLM systray icon and click my email inbox, it
opens a new IE7 window attempts to login and fails, saying my userid/password
is incorrect.

However, when i clicked my email inbox it also used an existing IE7 window
to open the inbox, which works correctly. So to reiterate, 2 IE7 windows, one
new, one existing, both go to same page, except new window's login fails.

I'm using the 64Bit Vista Ultimate, if that matters.

I've yet to see if this happens when i click on a WLM Toast when reciving a
new email/signing in. I'll let you know.

Thanks

Michael

Greetings Michael,

Intriguing, this doesn't reproduce for me although I'm on 32-bit.

Here's something to try. Do the process which creates the error, and then within that
Internet Explorer window, click the Tools menu, then Options, click the Delete button, and
then the Delete cookies button. Additionally you can choose the Delete files button too
although that shouldn't be needed.

Then close that Internet Explorer window and try again.

Yeah, very strange indeed, i forgot to add:

In the window that opens up, (the new IE7 Window) where it says login
failed, if i enter my password and login it takes me to the live.com accounts
page, not windows live mail.. really strange.

The other window that goes to mail.live.com (the window is already open)
logs in fine to WLMail. I dont use tabs, hence the new windows..

Hi Michael,

If you're for example, already logged into one account and you try to login to another
without signing out the first one, you'll end up to the live.com accounts site too.
Passport/Live ID has had that bug forever.

Yeah, I know how that works, but thats not the case, I only have one Windows
Live Account. A few other observations:

If i have no IE7 windows open, it'll use that window and log me in fine.
More than one window, and it'll reuse one window which logs in fine, but will
also open another window and the login will fail. This happens all the time,
regardless of how I open the email inbox, ie: clicking on the "You have 1 new
email message" or "You have recieved a message from xxxxx" or right clicking
on the taskbar icon and clicking "Email Inbox".

Its really starting to get to me now, because I may have something going on
in that window that it reuses and I lose whatever it is I'm doing in that
window.

How do I submit a bug?

Thanks for your help.

Michael
