I'm having problems with my MSN Windows Live Messenger installation.
I've installed it on my machine at work. Whilst not actively discouraged
(work accepts it CAN have some business merit), they do not actively support
it.
I want to use it to view the webcam from home so I can talk to my little
girl during work hours. I know the webcam at home works as I have used that
with other people successfully.
I also know that the MSN works fine between work and home, but when we try
to make a connection where I can view the home webcam, MSN (or whatever its
called now) crashes. I have no webcam at work, so its just a one-way
connection I'm after.
I've just upgraded to the latest version 8.1 (Build 8.1.0178.00) but it
still crashes.
Is it a feature? Is it the ports being locked down by work (and if so,
shouldnt it just time out or report a fault rather than crash?)
Or is it user error? ;p
