well, windows live messenger is the application that consumes most resources
in my pc

Contact list opened : (35.000 KB Aprox)
Contact list with 1 conversation window opened: (37.756 KB Aprox)
Minimized to taskbar (16.920 KB Aprox)

no the question

The final build released to public will consume all this resources?
Windows live messenger team,is makling effort to reduce this consumption
almot by half?

please answer me

thanks in advance

For me its less
Contact list opened : 24,500
Contact list with 1 window open: 25,500
Minimized to taskbar 7,500

Seems a good bit less for me, but maybe there are other factors that
determine its footprint.

Lol the classic response from MS worshipers on that subject is that its
still in beta and it has debugging code in it.
But I am willing to bet ya that after the cleanup there will be absolutely
no difference in ram.

Then it would be too late to complain about ram eating, because it would be
out of beta.

Then the ms worshipers say.... well ram is cheap, get more ram!

In otherwords the arrogance is enormous. They so what they want, they lie,
the mislead, and because they
are lazy and sloppy they force you to pay for more hardware just to run a
stupid chat program that could be
easily made to run on 2 mb of ram!

They never mention that even if you have more ram, more memory consumption
means a slower computer
because it has to use to hard disk to load it in the first place......

MS developers are like barbarians... no feeling for elegance or balance... a
program should be a work of art, and have "kalos" which means in ancient
greek that it should be beautiful in all of its aspects.

Hi,

Pretty much. Amusingly enough if you weren't here for the first beta, [for some people]
after about a day of usage it consumed about 2GB of memory and promptly crashed.

I've monitored this as well, using TCPVIEW (www.sysinternals.com). For ever
TAB, you get a connection. For every Contact, you get a connection.

msnmsgr.exe:1860 TCP flower-garden:3278
a168-215-49-17.deploy.akamaitechnologies.com:80 CLOSE_WAIT

I have about 20-25 of these ... when you first connect ... you should see
what goes on ... connection wise.
Eventually they go to CLOSE_WAIT and then sit there until Internet is
closed. Don't know what happens on DSL/Broadband where connection is always
ON.
