WLM 9 Beta Display Pictures malfunctioning?

Two issues. When I add a display picture, it shows up fine but then if I go
to change it there aren't any to pick from without browsing and the example
picture is blank. When I browse to add one, selecting it and hitting open
does nothing IF I select a display picture I have already used before during
my current session. If I select a new one, it works but I still experience
the same problems when going back to change it again. When I shut Messenger
down and restart it I am able to once again use the pictures that wouldn't
work before but they become unusable again as I select them and go back to
change the picture again.

Second, my contacts (Including myself) cannot see my current display picture
int he contact list when they use one of the larger picture-bearing icons.
HOWEVER my display picture does show up properly in the message window.

Additionally, when I open the window to select a display picture and
browse/open one, it shows up fine under "regular pictures". I can add as many
as I want but as soon as I close the window and try to go back and change my
pic again, they have all disappeared. Not sure if that is normal behavior or
not.

Is there no one out there with a fix for this? Or even any advice. Im having the same problem.... WLM 9 sucks so badly.
