WLM 9 NOT WORKING ON XP SP 3

hi, i recently downloaded wlm 9 beta, then it started updating itself after
the installation. i can not sign in to my mesenger account with my windows
live id which is not from hotmail, (@gmail.com) i also tried signing in with
a @hotmail.com win. live id and a @live.nl win. live id but that didnt work
too, it doesnt give an error message, i just type in my address, my password,
and click sign in, i does some stuff, tries to sign in, but it can't.. but
still no error message or wrong password message.... please help

I'm assuming that there isn't a problem with your network connection.
It may be that WLM did not install correctly. Have you tried re-installing
to see if that fixes the problem?

Greetings,

It does take some time when you first sign into the new version as it has to download all
your contacts and all their information. Does it just stop, or are you forcing it to exit,
or what?

Hello!!!

I have me to, a problem with the WLM 9 !
In my case,i signing in the messenger,but i dont now how i can add my
contact from hotmail!
in the wlm 8 or a older i see everybody but if i conect with wlm9 i dont
see nothing!

I have a similar, if not, the same problem: Log into the messenger as usual
and you see the connecting icon move and it jumps back to the previous login
screen again. It doesn't show any pop-up about an error or a wrong password,
it just looks at me as if nothing happened, like I just started the messenger
program.

I tried re-installing it from the live package after checking if my .NET
framework was up to date and doing every possible update for WinXP. Still
nothing.

The thing I noticed is that after trying Windows Live Mail, the mail program
gives a pop-up about doing something unexpeced and having to close. (as long
as I don't click the OK button it seems to work fine otherwise) No error code
or a more detailed message whatsoever. I don't know if this may be related,
but it might be worth mentioning.
