WLM and DEP PLEASE HELP

So I recently got a new HP laptop with Vista... *beats head into vista*

About 3 weeks ago, I started getting the DEP error for Windows Live Messenger

I've been doing the research on how to fix the problem. I've done uninstalls and reinstalls. I've tried earlier versions. I've tried uninstalling programs that may be conflicting. I've tried installing the patches everyone swears by. And I've turned off DEP. I'm STILL getting the error message. With DEP turned off. And yes, I confirmed that it was, in fact, off. I really don't know what else to do. Does anyone have any new info that might possibly help?
