WLM blocking other programs from working?

I've ran into a few situations where I generally had to reboot to clear a
problem up, but after yesterday, I think I've found out the problem.

I use MailWasher to get rid of spam in my inbox. But there are times when I
will start it, and it shows as a running process, but I never get the window
to open. Yesterday was such a day. And I forgot about it.

I also tried to use IE 7, and it refused to load my home page, Google. I
let it spin for an hour, and never got anything, and never got a time out.

I decided to play Total Annhilation (yeah, it's old), and the video started
flickering from the IM programs trying to show me who's logging in and out.
So I clicked out of TA and terminated the IM programs. Yahoo Messenger
wouldn't respond, so I killed that process. AIM terminated fine. WLM (8.1)
wouldn't respond either, so I killed that process. The MailWasher I had
forgotten about popped up. I decided to try IE 7 again, and got the home
page just like that. I've sent feedback.

Anybody else noticing this?

Greetings,

It sounds like some thread was holding everything back. I think you have a bigger issue than
just Messenger here.

That may very well be. I've been delaying a wipe and reinstall, although
most of my other issues went away when I moved my computer desk around and
rewired (USB related issues) recently.

Thanks!
