WLM constantly crashing

I am so frustrated and have been ever since WLM came out. I can NOT get
this software to work on my computer without crashing whenever I walk away
from my computer for more than an hour.

I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, waited for a newer
version and tried the whole exercise again and again and again and I always
have the same issue:

When I leave my computer for a while -- like to go watch TV, for instance --
and I come back, I hear the fan of my comuputer chug-chug-chugging away and
the WLM window appears completely white inside with just the outside of the
window frame. The only way out of it is to CTRL-ALT-DEL and end the process.
This usually also means having to reboot my computer.

I am using Windows Media Edition (5.1) and WLM 8.1.0178.00, although -- as I
said -- this has happened with every version of WLM.
