WLM - Conversation Expand/Collapse

Running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.

I guess my WLM updated to a new version (2011). Now when I view my
newsgroup, all conversations are in separate threads. I can't follow the
conversation at all. In the past, a thread (topic someone started) had each
individual conversation placed underneath. This way you would go to the
thread and expand to see the full activity that took place.

After reading on the Internet, I did find out that you can change it to
Expand/Collapse by first sorting on the "Sent" column. Once you do this,
the "Conversation" icon and the "Expand/Collapse" are enabled. You must
turn Conversation to On, then click Expand. What is stupid (or at least I
don't understand it) is that it only remains in this mode as long as the
sort is by the "Sent" column. I usually like to sort by the "Watch". Even
if I try to sort by the "Author" (so that my threads are together) it
disables the Conversation Threads.

This is just not very intuitive. I want to sort by any thing possible while
leaving the Conversations "On" and it set to "Expand/Collapse". Does
anybody understand this better?

Thanks

Conversation mode is applicable only when Sorted by Sent.

Fyi...The user configurable settings in Windows Update for receiving
Microsoft update(WLM is one) and installing automatically(or auto download
but choose to install, or notify before download and choose to install) are
the most likely reason the software was updated. WLM doesn't update
anything..Windows or the user does.

Understood. Sorry I was not clear on the update procedure.
However, what is the purpose of only allowing "Conversation On" ONLY when
sorting by "Sent" Column?
This makes no sense to me. I did notice that "Conversation On" now applies
to your regular emails too. No doubt it has something to do with that. At
any rate, as stated before, this makes it more difficult to keep track of
the conversations that I have flagged as "Watch".
