WLM Crashes on login

Hey,

Since short I have a problem with Windows Live Messenger.
When I start up Windows Live Messenger there's nothing wrong but as soon as
I login, it freezes and I get the send or do not send window and Windows Live
Messenger crashes.

This happened a couple of weeks ago but I didn't pay much attention to it
since I wasn't using Windows Live Messenger that much but it's starting to
get annoying.

Can anyone help me out with this?

What version of Windows are you using and which version of Windows Live Messenger are you
using?

I am also seeing the same issue. I have Windows XP SP2 with all latest
updates. The Windows Live Messenger was working fine till i installed IE7.
Because of a bugcheck i had to uninstall IE7 after which i am not able to use
Windows Live Messenger. I have tried re-installing it atleast 3 times but to
no avail. I also have Bit Defender Internet Security v10 installed in my
machine. Now the Windows Live Messenger crashes whenever i try to login. I
have tried deleting the files in Local Settings -> App Data-> Microsoft ->
Windows Live Contacts etc.
The version i am using is 8.0.812.

I'm using the newest WLM and Windows XP Home SP 2 with latest updates.

I am having the exact same problem described. Very occasionally I am logged
in for about 5 seconds before the crash, but it is almost always instant as I
click the "sign-in" button.

Also forgot to mention:

I've tried both Live Messenger 8 and the beta 8.1 and both have the same
problem.

Web messenger works ok, though it seems fairly unstable kicking me out every
10 minutes or so.

I tried removing live messenger and installing MSN messenger 7.5 and I get
the same problem, which seemed particularly odd to me.

I can still use my account to chat using Cerulean Studios Trillian, but I
would far rather use Live Messenger.

Yes, when I installed any other MSN Version it crashed too.
I'm using Windows Messenger at the moment, but like you I rather use WLM.
