Hi Masse.
This could be because you have a mismatched version of the dlls on your
machine. I would try this:
1. uninstall the current Beta.
2. make sure all files / directories under c:\program files\windows live\...
are gone or empty, especially the "contacts" directory.
3. re-install the beta.
if you continue to find this issue happening I'd love to see your event IDs
(instructions below).

If on Vista
In the search bar in the start menu type 'problem'
Select 'Problem Reports and Solutions'
Click on View Problem History
Sort by Date.
In the Windows Live Communications Platform group select the most recent
one.
If it does not say report sent, right click and choose "Check for
solutions". This will send a report and change the status to report sent.
Then double click the event, copy any information that you see there and
send it to us. Information that we are looking for are:
Problem signature
Problem Event Name:
Application Name:
Application Version:
Application Timestamp:
Fault Module Name:
Fault Module Version:
Fault Module Timestamp:
Exception Code:
Exception Offset:
OS Version:
Locale ID:
Additional Information 1:
Additional Information 2:
Additional Information 3:
Additional Information 4:
Extra information about the problem
Bucket ID:
If the above steps do not work, then follow the instructions for XP. It
should work for Vista too
If you are on XP
Click Start
Click Run
Type eventvwr.msc
You might see a large list of events
Go to View -> Filter
In Event Types check only Error. Uncheck everything else.
In Event Source select Windows Live Communications Platform.
Click OK.
You event view should now only have Windows Live Communications Platform
errors.
Sort by Date
Open the most recent event by double clicking on it.
Note down the following:
Event ID
Copy and paste any description text. Select the text, Press Ctrl+C, Open
Notepad or Email client, Press Ctrl+V
