WLM Online Folders via POP

I have quite a few "online" folders with my MSN mailbox that I use for filing
mail in my account. These folders are in the same area as my MSN Inbox and
are not "Storage Folders" on my local PC.

I can access these folders via MSN Explorer and also via WLM Desktop and
mail.live.com, but when using a different mail client and accessing my MSN
email via POP (at pop3.live.com). Is there any way to access these folders
outside of MSN Explorer, WLM Desktop, or mail.live.com?

A screenshot of my folders is located at:

No, but what would wrong with accessing via http://mail.live.com?

By "different mail client" do you mean something like using Thunderbird?

POP3 is not a "synchronizing" protocol. It can only access the mailbox,
which appears to it as the "Inbox". There is no way to synchronize all
folders in any POP3 client. Only in an HTTPMail (DeltaSync) enabled client;
Windows Live Mail (DeltaSync), yes, MS Outlook Express (WebDAV), no.

That actually happened with the move to the proprietary "WebDAV" protocol,
around 1999.

The move from "WebDAV" to "DeltaSync" happened about ten years later, and
cut of a handful of older MS products which understood "WebDAV", but do not
understand "DeltaSync".

WLMail understands "DeltaSync", and going that way through an IMAP account
just adds needless extra steps.

MS never documented "WebDAV" in the ten years that they used it for webmail.
I doubt that will change for "DeltaSync".

Except Yahoo!.

Actually, it is a good plan, by some standards. "DeltaSync" allows the
synchronization of much more than just email. It is another step in the
direction of "cloud computing".

The op appears to be using an Msn.com, Hotmail.com, or Live.com account.
IMAP does not apply.

Setting up each account in WLM as an http account using DeltaSync will achieve the required results)

DAV covers a lot of territory, I think. WebDAV was a paricular subset of DAV
which applied to Web access to an email account.

Ah; you do know what they say about, "assume", yes? When you jump to a
conclusion, you should look down, first. The ground may be farther away than
you think!

I wouldn't know. I haven't be drinking it. Just because I know where
Microsoft wants to take people, does not mean I am going along.

Afaik, only 3 products support(ed) WebDAV, the protocol for previously used for Microsoft Hotmail accounts(hotmail.com, msn.com)
and also pre-dates availability of the other Hotmail capable domain(live.com)accounts.

The WebDAV capable Msft software were OE, OL, and Msn Explorer...their current status
- OE support discontinued
- OL support discontinued and replaced by the Outlook Connector using DeltaSync
- MSN Explorer 9.6 or later supports DeltaSync(WebDAV's replacement)

DAV as Norman mentioned is an entirely different issue.
