Hi, I hope you are well

The subject says it all really.

Video is fine but received audio is absolutely unusable. It sounds as
if it's being blanked for 100mS at a time. I have tried turning off
QOS but there's no difference. The other party can hear my audio
perfectly and when I try the same connection with a Dell XPS laptop,
the audio is fine.

As far as I know, the computer is completely up to date. AV s/w is
Norton Internet Security. OS is XP Home, 1GB RAM.

I've ordered a RAM upgrade to boost it to 2GB but I don't know how
much that will help.

Any other options I can try please?

TIA

Hi,

For anyone interested, I found a fix for this... it seems that the latest
WLM version causes the choppy sound issue, download version 8.5 (build
1288.816), it fixed mine straight away.

My girlfriends NC10 was having these same issues and the solution was to change the battery manager setting to MAX PERFORMANCE. This allows the cpu to run at full speed making the audio/video in msn live messenger nice and smooth.

Hope this helps ye guys.
