Pretty simple..
If one want to use the http protocol, just enter the email address when setting up the account, WLM will do the rest
A bit more effort if one prefers using the pop3/smtp protocol for a hotmail.com account and also the same as msn.com and live.com

?Hi, Panic.
Hey, that's MY ISP! ;<) Grande Communications, Inc., is based here in San
Marcos, TX, and has been my ISP for about 5 years now, using their cable
broadband. I've used them with OE, WM and now WLMail. And with WinXP,
Vista and Win7, both 32-bit and 64-bit. They've been an excellent ISP for
me.
But I've never used Hotmail.

Many of us wonder WHY the WLM Team decided to hide the Menu Bar by default!
It sure creates a lot of confusion - but it's an easy fix. Just press the
<Alt> key to have the Menu Bar appear - but it will hide again after we use
it. To toggle it on or off permanently, press <Alt>M, M. Then you should
see the familiar Tools button.
Has your friend created an email account for Grande on his WLM? The
settings are simple and have stayed the same for years. In the Mail Account
Properties, both incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) servers are
mail.grandecom.net. Enter his username and password, then check Log on
using clear text authentication; leave the other boxes unchecked (except for
Remember password). Accept the defaults on the Security and Advanced tabs.
Note that this uses WLMail, NOT a browser! Since I've not used Hotmail, I
have no idea how to set up a Hotmail account.

I have a friend in Texas whose ISP is grandecom.net. He just got a new
computer with Win7 from Dell that didn't have WLM installed. He called me
on the phone and I talked him through installing Windows Essential which
includes WLM. But after install he opened WLM and he says it shows as
Windows Live Hot Mail. His WLM display didn't have the top taskbar that
includes: file; edit; insert; format; tools, etc. I used the
Tools...Accounts...options to setup my Cox ISP mail account. Any ideas on
what happened to his install to not have that top line? My WLM was
installed at the Microsoft Store where I bought my computer so I really
never installed my WLM myself.
Plus he had a heart bypass earlier this month and is still a little woozy on
what he's doing. Anyone know of a site that spells out how to install WLM
and get it working right?
