WLM Release Crashing

Everytime l try to send a message l receive an error and WLM shuts itself down.

Going into Options l find that in Connection, the connection status at the
top has an EXCLAMATION MARK between the PC piture and (what l believe to be)
the modem picture. Also, the connection troubleshooter cannot be activated as
the start button is graded out..

MVPs, any help???

Is anyone else in the same state of mind I am? I didn't want or order this
thing called Windows Live and I want to wipe it off my computers. It took
over my search defaults and pops up often saying it can't find a URL even
when Microsoft's Survey arm asks me to take a survey. This is too much like
'Big Brother' to suit my needs.
Does anyone know how I can revert to just plain MSN Premium?
