WLM Stopped Working

I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2. 2 GB of RAM, Firefox with scanners of
MBAB, SuperAntiSpyware Professional, CCleaner and Spybot (installed
yesterday). Was running fine then all of a sudden, after the most recent
scan with Spybot my mail stopped working. The Spybot didn't find or fix
anything.
Here's the error message:

Subject; `Re: Longhorn XMasEve 4 Martinis'
Server: `smtp-server.cfl.rr.com'
WLM Error: 0X800cc0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port 25
Secure (SSL): No
Socket Error: 10060

Any help would be appreciated. I've tried rebooting my Linksys router and
this often helps but nothing. Next will be a restore unless someone can
decipher that error message from WLM.

Thanks in advance. Paul C.

Update. What it looks like is that I can't send or receive mail. If I
clear out any e-mails after trying to send them, then I can sync my e-mail
up and it works fine. But as long as I have any newly sent e-mails left (in
`deleted files', or in the outbox), the sync hangs and gives me the error
message in the previous post. It's weird because I've got mail stored in all
my folders and I can sync any folder or newsgroup and the sync works, but
once I try sending anything the sync hangs and I get the error message until
I permanently delete the e-mail I'm trying to send.

Thanks. Paul C.

Another update. I just disabled Spybot and I can send mail just fine.
However, I was able to send/receive mail for the past day when Spybot was
enabled. Not sure what changed in Spybot for it to start conflicting with my
WLM. Any suggestions. Or should I just uninstall Spybot.

If Spybot has an option to ignore emails, try that.
Otherwise I'd uninstall it.
Email scanning in any antivirus/anti-malware should be disabled,
for reasons explained here:

Gary, Spybot has no options to ignore e-mails, nor does it do e-mail
scanning, however, my ability to send/receive e-mails is back and I'm not
sure why.

Disabling Spybot appeared to make WLM work again but then I did a restart to
see if disabling it was a fluke and sure enough, when it rebooted Spybot
showed up in the Notification area, and my WLM still worked just fine.
I read the tutorial about e-mail scanning you sent and decided to disable my
e-mail scanning in my CA Security Suite so we'll see what that does.
Haven't a clue why Spybot is no longer getting in the way of
sending/receiving e-mail. Maybe it wasn't related at all.

I also uninstalled Ad-Aware based on your (and others) comments about it
lack of usefulness.

Thanks for your comments. PaulC.
