Each time I wat to open the application, it tries to repair itself. WLM 8.5
and 9 does it and reinstalling them doesn't help. Letting them or stopping
the repairing pocess doesn't help too.

Greetings,

By reinstall do you mean a complete uninstall and then installing the exact same version
again? If not, that really should work.

If that is what you've been doing, then more than likely something is messing around with
Messenger. As a workaround, you can head over to the \Windows Live\Messenger folder,
right-click the msnmsgr.exe file and choose Create shortcut to manually create a shortcut
which should bypass this. You can then move your created shortcut where ever you prefer.

Strange workaround, but so far it works. And yes, I meant a complete uninstall.

Sorry for th doublepost, but I don,t know where to edit. IS there another
solution you see that could get rid of the issue?

Hi,

Normally I'd say to use ZapMessenger, but that'll do a clean install first (which you've
already done) so the current version of that won't work for this.

You could try using the Windows Installer Cleanup here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

After installation, just run the utility from the start menu, find Windows Live Messenger on
the list and choose Remove.
Then install Live Messenger again.

Can't guarantee this will work as I really suspect something else is interfering with it.
