Hi Brian,
Well actually there's no version where the GIF/PNGs were just accepted like this, the older
versions just didn't allow you to transfer them to another PC at all and used another format.
I think you may have just copied the wrong folder. If you don't have that many, just move
your GIF/PNGs somewhere else (say to a new folder within My Pictures) and manually add them
as you need them.
