Hello D@ny,

After the final version "Windows Live Messenger 2008", which had the
version number 8.5.1302.1018, there was a private beta from December
2007 until June 2008, being labeled 9.0.1407.1107. The current beta is
"Windows Live Messenger 2009 Beta" (14.0.5027.908), part of "Windows
Live Essentials Wave 3 Beta", and the fact that the final version of it
is scheduled to be released in just weeks lets us conclude that it will
have the name "Windows Live Messenger 2009" with a version number
starting with 14.0.

Hello Marco,

It might be on 10 December, as the newest information in the German Lvie
Space "Windows Live Blog" (windowsliveblog.spaces.live.com) contains a
new posting by Dirk Schulze-Bahr (Head of Product Management Windows
Live Online Services Group Germany), hinting that the new Essentials
products are scheduled for the beginning of December.
What is your source for the date you mentioned?

Hi,

The "official" Messenger blog is at:
http://messengersays.spaces.live.com

And there's no official date.
