I noticed that the message history for some contacts is not saved, but it
works for other contacts. It worked fine in earlier versions.

On further digging I noticed that the LastSessionID value is not updated
accordingly for the contact(s), presumably causing newer save attempts to
fail. Are there certain scenarios that could've triggered this or is this a
bug?

I fixed the problem by correcting the LastSessionID *AND* removing the
"Invitation" and "InvitationResponse" entries at the end of the message log.
Now that it has worked I pasted those entries back and it still works fine.
It seems like Messenger has a problem handling such tags at the end of a
session or the message log?

Hello Sir!

Can you provide me step-by-step instruction on how to resolve this issue? I
can seem to find the LastSessionID and Invitation and InvitationResponse that
you mentioned.

Thanks a lot!!!

Hello,

You will find these data in the XML file containing the Message Logs of
the contact you have been talking with. This file is usually created in
<Documents>\My Received
Files\<MAILNAME-PART><USERID>\...\<CONTACTNAME-PART><USERID>.xml.
<MAILNAME-PART> refers to the part of your Windows Live ID which is
before the "@", and <USERID> is a hash of your Live ID.
<CONTACTNAME-PART> and <USERID> are the same, for the contact's Live ID.

Hey, Thanks!

However the steps originally provided to correct LastSessionID still
confuses me...

What value do I need to put into the XML file? The file also does not have
"INVITATION" in it. The "INVITATIONRESPONSE" are alot. How do I know which
value to remove??

Thanks again!!!
