i change to the last version of windows live mail and it solved my hotmail
sync problem, but now i´ve a new one: wlmessenger closes everytime i try to
open a link or archive in a chat window, try to save a conversation or open
several windows... i put the last versions of the 2 programs, the computer
says everything it´s ok, but messenger still closes... i can´t chat, can´t
use any of the features i supposed to, it makes me crazy, someone had the
same problem and/or knows how to solve it?

troubles here and there, but always keep going...

I hate to say, I find it very unlikely that your crashes have anything to do
with you using Windows Live Mail, although maybe you should clarify if you
are just using Windows Live Mail (the version that opens in your web browser)
or if you are using Windows Live Mail Desktop (which, amost other things,
interacts with Windows Live Messenger).
Your crashes can be due to pretty much anything: damaged file, damanged
memory, not enough memory, overheated CPU, virus, trojan, other background
programs...
When your messenger or any other program on your computer crashes, do you
get a notice and the option of sending a crash report?
Here are two things you can do to help solve the problem by reporting the
crash to the developers:
- if you can, submit a crash report to Microsoft. If the window just
disappears, then this won't be an option
- In your messenger settings under the "General" tab, check the 3rd last box
with the button next to it (I'm using a German verison, so I'm not entirely
sure what the captions would be in English). It would say something about
allowing Microsoft to collect anonymous usage information.

Here are other steps you can try out and see if they work:
- uninstall your messenger completely (in control panel under Add/remove
programs)
- Download and reinstall the latest version of messenger from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
- Check your computer for viruses and spyware. There are a number of free
and commercial products available for this. Free antivirus: www.free-av.com,
www.avast.com. Free spyware scan: www.lavasoftusa.com,
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en. Longer list on demand.
- Opt out of the Windows Live Mail beta (somewhere in the settings once you
sign into your email account on http://mail.live.com)
- Close programs running in background (check in notification area next to
system clock or process view of the taskmanager. DON'T MESS AROUND WITH THE
TASK MANAGER UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!)

This should get you started. If you still get problems, drop another line
here, there are a bunch of other steps that you may take. Also be sure to
include more details on your system next time! What Windows are you running
with which service pack? Do you update regularly on
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com? What is your memory etc etc.

thanks, daBrain, i made all that you said and more, the problem seems the
wlmail desktop, in some way is interacting with the messenger and generates
the problem, i did uninstall and reinstall the new messenger and nothing
happened, i use a very potent antivirus and ran the lavasoft ad-aware just in
case, i´ve 1 gb memory and a powerful processor... in fact, i help my husband
in a reseller computer store, so figure out if i didn´t try everything i
could (except a complete cpu reinstallation) before posting here.

Well I guess if you're using Windows Live Mail Desktop and it causes crashes,
you should try to solve the problem at the WLMd end, rather than Messenger.
You can check on the current development status of WLMd on
http://morethanmail.spaces.live.com/. You can also get the most recent
version there.
If all else fails, I guess you should just stick to accessing your email
through established means such as through your web browser on
http://mail.live.com or through Outlook. Remember that WLMd is still in early
development and bound to have a number of significant errors! Please also
note the details in my previous message regarding an up to date system and
background programs.
