WLM Version 8.1 & 8.5
this problem started to occur around the 16th - 17th Oct 2007 in versions
8.1 and 8.5 . (ive tried both started off with 8.1)
im not to sure whats caused it but it seemed but after a windows update.
the problem is that after a certain amount of time WLM doesnt seem to send
or receive messages. every thing looks as normal & you think people are jus
ignoring you, however this is not the case.
The link to the WLM server seems crash, also meaning u cant change your
status, or so you think. the online status will still continue to be shown to
your contacts who will think u r still online or whatever you set the status
to, but you will not see the change.
eventually when your realise its all gone wrong when you log out it will
give you a message of something like: "Unable to change status" or "Unable to
start conversation with [Contact name]"
ive tried absolutely everything to resolve this including network & Router
settings, firewall settings, IE settings, DNS cache settings, also updating
adobe flash player seemed to give me a longer connection time, but it still
varies from 20 mins to maybe 2 hrs.
if any one knows of a solution (Microsoft!) or possibly even a software
program, driver or even hardware conflict please do tell as ive pretty much
given up hope!!
