wm 10 internet connection w/xp

help! I have tried everything I can think of . I can not get my home computer
to connect to the internet with wm 10. I am using dsl, Internet exployer, xp
and it will not connect. If im needing to open ports or something can someone
tell me how to do that?

Go to Tools>Options
Under the player tab, make sure "Connect ot the internet" is checked

How dio you know you cannot connect to the internet? What was the symptom(s)?

the "connect to the interned is checked. I have tried disabling my firewall.
I have added media player to acceptions for my firewall, however each time i
start up media player it tells me the page cannot be displayed and to go
change my internet settings to auto detect and that I need to be connectied
to the internet. All the songs say unknown artist, and no album covers. Its
driving me crazy!

windows home edition xp serive pack2, exployer6.0, media player 10. I think
my connection problem is related to the firewall. Im wondering if there is
something in the airewall advanced settings that im not checking off. If I
need to add a port im going to need step by step help. Any takers?
