WMDC 6.1 Has Been Released

The Windows Mobile Device Center team is happy to announce the launch of
Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for Windows Vista!

The Windows Mobile Device Center is the replacement for ActiveSync on
Windows Vista, and enables Windows Mobile users to connect their device,
quickly set up new partnerships, synchronize content including PIM and files,
transfer music, pictures, and video, and manage their devices with Windows
Vista. This new version contains key improvements and new features to support
Windows Mobile 6 devices.

The key updates delivered in this release include:
 IRM activation
 HTML mail
 Certificate enrollment
 File synchronization on all WM 6 devices
 Windows Embedded CE 6.0 support
 Automatic device authentication
 Product registration
 Silent-mode install for corporate deployment

Dear Steve,

Although I believe your team has put a lot of work and affort in developing
WMDC 6.1 I still have a lot of Issues with WMDC 6.1. I work for a global
Construction Company and on behalf of my company I and others are are testing
severall devices on Vista and XP and I have to say that Active Sync 4.5 works
with Windows Mobile 6 on XP and that WMDC 6.1 combined with Vista and HTC
WM6.0 devices doesn't. Therefore we draw back on upgrading to VISTA. I'll
hope 6.2 or 7.0 comes out ASAP so we can consider an upgrade.

I'm definitely sorry to hear that you're having such problems. If you'd be
willing to follow up with me offline I'd like to understand the issues
you've been having. If it's not something that we can get working now I'd
at least like to make sure that it's addressed in our current development
work.
