Hi.

Running Vista (RTM - all updates). PDA: HTC4350 WM5.0

Have tried the newest WMDC.
The RNDIS(Microsoft windows mobile Remote adapter) network adapter gets
installed fine, but under portable Devices i just get "Windows Mobile
Device" with the yellow exclamation icon.

Have tried uninstalling etc. a lot of times.

My vista is an upgrade from XP where activesync worked fine.
I have search the net for a couple of days but with no luck.

How do i get Vista to correctly recognize my PDA??

Im getting desperat - but would like to avoid re-installing Vista...

/Michael

Hi Michael.

Try to un-install the "Windows Mobile Device" from under portable devices,
then restart your computer and connect your device.

If that does not work try the following:

Try manually switching from RNDIS USB driver to the serial USB
driver and see if that works?

Instructions:
1. Start
2. Settings
3. Connections
4. USB to PC
5. Uncheck 'Enable advanced network functionality'

Thanks,
Abdulkadar

Hi.

I tried both. but no luck with WMDC.
But i can synchronize music from windows media player.

When advanced network functionality is enebled I get the mobile device
network adapter(RNDIS) correctly in the device manager
But the Windows mobile device is marked with the yellow exclamation mark.

if I disable the adv. net functionality I get the SmartPhone USB Sync under
Mobile devices shown okay.
And as I said i can synch from Windows media player to the PDA and even to
the storage card.

I tried setting ports in windows firewall - i have also tried to disable the
firewall.

/Michael

Below is the wmdc.log

it shows the following error:

wmdc Error: 6 : Caught exception: System.IO.IOException: Illegal operation
attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion.

I think the first error(DeviceDisconnectedException) is because I closed
the "installing hardware" dialog that showed the device failed message.
