Hi,
Just to note that the 'fixmapi.exe' suggestion made by one of the previous posters has worked for me. It didn't work the first time with all the applications open, but then I closed Outlook, WMDC and mobsync and then I ran it again, and this time it worked. Thanks for your help. John Coldwell wrote: WMDC - Outlook has not been installed - it is! Final solution died a horrible death! 17-Mar-09 Well sorry to say that after 2 days with perfect syncing it's gone back to the same problem. I'm seriously thinking of claiming Microsoft for lost productivity, not only with WMDC but Vista in general. So now I'm installing a 3rd party sync application and hope I get some work done! After 8 hours of frustration I have found the solution that worked for me:
Under Extra/accounts/filelocations (second tab form the left)I've noticed the list is empty, while it should lokate the outlook.pst file, usualy located C:\Users\Cie\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlo ok.pst, amongst other databases. If this list is empty WMDC thinks outlook is not installed, while outlook performs as normal. BUG!! Creating a new database (example.pst) at the same location as the outlook.pst, and restarting outlook makes the list as it should be and WMDC acts normal again. You don't need to extually use this pst.file, and I think you can erase it (although I did'n't so far) Good night, and good luck.
