I've gotten this error about 5 times in the past 3 days <a
href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img
src="http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee90/LadybugR38/WMI.jpg" border="0"
alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

I clicked where it says to find a solution online, but I can't understand
any of the stuff I was reading on there. So, can someone tell me what that
means, is it a serious problem and how can I fix it? Thanks

Are you using this "photobucket" internet sharing thing? If not see if
it's in Control Panel/Programs and see if you can remove it.

Yes I have my pictures uploaded to my photo album on Photobucket, that way I
can email or IM links to my friends so they can see my pictures. That is how
I was able to put the link to the picture of the error message on my post.
What does that have to do with the question I asked?

True, you did post the URL that displays the screen showing the WMI error.
But you don't have clearly understandable words about what happend and when
it happens and what the link will show. In this case the make and model of
the computer may not be required, but it is often useful and sometimes
necessary. Vista version is usually helpful too.

On my first quick read, I thought your problem was with Photobucket. My
newsreader (outlook express) has the subject in a tiny font, which is
difficult to change, so I usually ignore it. The body of each message I've
changed to a nice big readable font. So I didn't notice that the problem
was really with WMI.
It would have been so much clearer to say:

I'm running Vista xyz version preinstalled on a brand W model 123 computer
I've gotten the same WMI error about 5 times in the past 3 days
I've posted a screenshot at

One more thing:
I googled the M$ Vista newsgroups for the two words appcrash wmiprvse. I
got ZERO hits. It did not even find your post. If nobody puts the
pertinent details in their post, then even if a perfect response is posted
that solves the problem, no one else will every find it. So I guess we
should include at least the Problem Event Name and Application Name when we
are referring to these kind of problems.

On the other hand, if you have never posted before, and have not browsed the
newsgroups, you did pretty well.

Tell us the brand and model of the computer and whether Vista was
preinstalled, a guestimate of how many certified Vista compatible and
non-certified Vista compatible programs you have installed (or were
previously on your WXP system you upgraded from).
