Greetings,
One solution for this is if you've had the debug log file on and its grown too big. To
correct, go to your My Documents\My Received Folder and if you have a MsnMsgr.txt file,
delete it and then try signing in. If this works, be sure to click the Tools menu, then
Options, Connection category, then Advanced Settings button, and uncheck the box under
'Connection Logging'.
If that didn't help the problem, you could try completely removing your contact cache store.
To do so, shut down Messenger, then clicking Start, then
Run, type:
%appdata%\Microsoft
Right-click the MSN Messenger folder and choose Delete. Then restart Messenger and see if
the problem has been corrected.
Finally, if you're still experiencing the problem and you're using a router in your network
configuration, you might want see if there is a firmware updates available for your
particular router model from the manufacturer.
