WMM6 Screen Aspect Ratio

It seems that movies saved with the 16:9 aspect ratio on WMM6 appear inside
a 4:3 aspect ratio display on a widescreen monitor ie there are black bars
all around. Is there a simple fix for this.

I prefer using WMM6 to WLMM but the the latter offers a genuine choice of
ratio.
