Can WMP 11 be removed and replaced with WMP 10? I love 10 but hate 11.

I just tried to install the WMP10 package (12M/b) and I get the message:
" This version of Media Player only runs on Windows XP (32bit)"

So I guess the answer is no.

I don't guess; I know that he's running XP.

Assuming that by `he` you are referring to Sinner, then why would this thread
be created in a Vista news-group?

You'd have to ask Sinner, not me.

No you won't be able to uninstall WMP 11 and replace it with WMP 10

Considering that Sinner is using XP, why not?

Ok, can I just remove WMP 11 and use a third party media player. I really
do hate 11 and if I'm not using it, I don't need it taking up space on my
hard drive. I feel the same about other programs MS is foisting on me like
Messenger, Movie Maker, Media Center, etc. It's my system, and I should
have the ability to customize it to my liking.

It looks like you can't remove WMP11 without major surgery but you can
run WMP10 as a stand alone app. I have wrapped WMP10 and it's install
files into an exe file on an XP box.
It seems to run ok on my Vista box. I've upped it here if you want to
give it a go:

www.admin1.myzen.co.uk\WM10.rar

It's a 44 M/b rar file that unpacks to a 140 M/b exe.

I run with UAC off, so you may need to right-click and Run as admin.
Good luck.
