When I open Media Player and click on Library, the album art that would
normally be on the left side is gone because the column at the top (ex. Album
Art, Track, Title, etc) has disappeared. i have tried to right click and
"choose column" to no avail.

how do i get it back?

You're probably in Details view. To switch back to Expanded Tile view,
which does show album art, click the button on the left of the Search field.

Regards
