wmp 11 playback

i have amd 4200+ 2 x(1024) corsair ram

when playing a mp3 i get a lot of stuttering in in playback when the system
is idle and when i do multiple things, playback is real poor

any hints to help improve this ?

I have been experiencing this for long while now on Windows Vista, the most
likely cause is your video drivers, update it and you will see a significant
improvement in reliability and stability. There will still be a few
stuttering here and there but it will greatly lessened.
