To whom it may concern,
It's easy to fix this problem. First, right click on the speaker icon in the system tray in the lower right-hand corner on your desk-top screen. Second, left click on playback devices. In the drop-down box, you will see a small speaker icon in the upper left-hand corner. If it is not already selected, click on the playback tab. You will see another somewhat larger speaker icon next to a very small green circle with a white check mark in it. Next to them, you will see text that reads: 'Speakers Realtek High Definition Audio Working' Highlight the icon, green circle with white check mark, and the text. In the lower right-hand corner click on properties. In the drop-down box, you will see a small speaker icon in the upper left-hand corner. Just beneath it, you will see six tabs: General, Custom, Levels, Enhancements, Dolby, and Advanced. Click on the Enhancements tab. When it opens, you will see some text. Just below and to the left and right of the text, you will see two very small boxes. Put a check mark the box with the text next to it that reads: Disable all sound effects. In the lower right-hand corner click on Apply. Next click on OK. After you click on OK, the drop-down box will disapper. However, one more drop-down box remains. Click on OK, and it will disapper as well. When you play your songs in windows media player after following this rather simple procedure, you will not hear any skips near the end of the songs. Enjoy! When I play an .mp3 file on WMP 11 on Vista the song always skips about 20
seconds before the song ends. Does anyone know why this is and if it is a
bug

I have this exact same problem. Exactly 20 seconds from the end of each song
the audio breaks up for about a second
My new Dell was delivered on 19 April. If Dale is correct, why is Dell still
delivering faulty audio drivers
I downloaded Winamp and it plays perfectly without a problem the very same
..wma files. Does that mean Winamp is using its own special drivers

My Dell PC was delivered on 12th June 2007 and STILL there is a problem
with songs skipping at the end using WMP 11 with Vista. I downloaded
and installed the suggested driver from Dell but that did not work. I
then tried turning off enchancements but the only problem with that is
I lose 5.1 surround sound. I don't want to lose 5.1 surround because it
sounds absolutely fantastic.
Are there any other suggestions which would solve this problem?
In the meantime I will look on Dell community to see if I can find a
solution.

I saw your post and no one seems to have answered your question even
thou that was sometime back. well maybe it can help someone. Something
to do with the sound card not supporting the enhancements.

I had the same problem with my computer. I have a Dell inspiron E1505. But i believe this happens on a few others. I right clicked on the speakers in the taskbar, on playback devices. select which one your using and click properties, next click on "disable all enhancements".
