WMP 11 won't upgrade

I have Vista Ultimate with media player 11 and I keep getting a DRM error
with a solution. When I click on get upgrade, I go to microsofts site where
it says 'click upgrade' but when I do it immediatley gives me a 'cannot
upgrade' message then freezes up and I have to restart the internet explorer.
I have tried several of the usual things but none of them work. I would like
to delete 11 and go to 10 but Vista says I do not have permission, which is
frustrating as I am an administrator on the machine but I digress.

HOW DO I FIX THIS???? I cannot use Netflix movies on demand service or
Amazon Unbox until the Media Player is upgraded. Please someone help me!

Anyone,

Is this saying you *can* downgrade the Windows Media Player that comes with
Windows Vista (WMP 11) to an older version (WMP 10)? I may be wrong on
this - I never thought of trying - but that seems to me like it would not be
plausible.

In any case - I have cross-posted this into the given newsgroup so that the
experts there might answer both the OPs original concerns/issues with said
"DRM Error" and my question about the viability of downgrading from 11 to 10
WMP in Windows Vista...

If those in the "microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player" could respond to all
included newsgroups - that would be great!
