WMP 12 cartoon above playlist

Is there a setting somewhere that I can tell it to not display that silly
"Shop" cartoon above the playlist in the View > Library view? I never use
this. It looks like a multi-purpose pane, sometimes it shows more details
about the song, usually shows an album cover. Some of my playlists are quite
long. I could use this space for that. The goofy thing is there is a
setting to hide the list, but no setting for Hide/show details/cartoon.

Another nice feature would be one key start/stop. Space bar, or even P for
play or pause. This way while I'm recording in the studio I can use WMP
while holding an instrument. Now it's set to Ctrl+p for play/pause and
Ctrl+s for stop. Is this a changeable setting?

One way of changing this setting is to change your keyboard for one
with Media Player controls. I pulled some strings and got one from my
employer.

So I have a circle of keys at the top left of my keyboard:

Launch default player
Stop
Pause/Start
Volume Down
Volume Up
Previous track
Next Track

I also have back/forward webpage; and added bonus!

Logitech has such a keyboard that includes a digital thermometer
readout, so you can tell whether you should be playing Calypsos or
"Sinfonia Antarctica" by Vaughan-Williams :-)
