wmp 9 and 10 does not recognise cd/dvd burner

I have just upgraded the wmp 10 from 9 when I try to burn a CD from files I
have already got on my hard drive it tells me that it detects no cd or dvd
burner I have a sony combo drive that works fine on other software
nero/itunes F5 refresh doesnt help my drivers are up to date . Please can
someone help me . cheers

Is cd burning activated in the properties of the cd drive?

Hi thks for your quick response the burner works in i tunes although i have
not tried it in nero since the problem has been noticed . As regards your
suggestion I have opened the properties tab and under the drop down menu of
selected tasks for blank cd's in autoplay i have checked burn cd in windows
media player but it still doesnt detect the player even after F% refresh and
restart

I'm having the exact same problem. I can rip and burn CD's in iTunes, but
wmp doesn't detect the cd drive. Let me know if you figure it out!
