WMP cursor behavior

Whenever I use WMP my cursor has the Vista-version of the old hourglass, the
spinning circle, appear next to it. This persists when I minimize and try to
work in another program... the cursor has a spinning circle next to it the
whole time WMP is running, spinning and blinking in a 1-second rhythm. Now, I
may be rhythm-challenged, but I don't need to keep a visual beat while typing!

Is there any way to end this behavior? I have WMP 11, on Vista svc pack 1
(svc pack 2 won't install - but that's another story!). Thanks for any
insight.

Some sort of weird behavior is occuring: this isn't normal.

Are you getting any strange symptoms from the player..... ?

Was it always like this, or did it start happening after a particular
system change, such as an installation. If so, can you remember what
exactly was changed/installed?

Perhaps this is caused by a WMP plug-in? Try disabling all plug-ins
(WMP's Options - Plug-ins) and see if that helps.

Regards
